Sunday is a different plan
The last Sunday of the month normally has a free-entry opening from 09:00 to 14:00, with last admission at 12:30, subject to holiday exceptions. Other Sundays are generally closed. A free day can mean a different queue and a shorter visit, not simply the same experience at no cost.
Last entry is not a recommended arrival time
Arriving near final admission leaves less time for the galleries. Work backwards from the rooms you want to see and the pace that suits you. A suggested three-to-four-hour museum allowance is a planning estimate, not a rule or an included tour length.
Check each attraction separately
